Ooh! The winter 2007 issue of Knitty is up today! There’s a few really nice patterns in this issue, at least one of which I intend to make. I’ve just recently learned to knit lace and fallen in love with it, and an Ice Queen will be mine eventually.
And to remind myself of the patterns, I immediately added Ice Queen and a couple others to my Ravelry queue. Ravelry is an absolutely amazing site for knitters and crocheters, and I was lucky enough to get an invite months ago. I’ve actually got three projects on the needles right now. I’m making myself a Swan Lake stole in a pretty light grey color (it’s called pewter, but it’s lighter than the pewter I’ve seen), a Booga Bag, and my sister’s Christmas present, which I won’t reveal the nature of until after Christmas is over. Add to that the men’s viking outfit I need to have finished by Saturday for my boyfriend, and you get a very busy Karla!
Somehow, I still manage to fit plenty of World of Warcraft in there, though. My little shadow priestess, Inaara, is my third 70, and my moocow druid girl, Averiel, just hit 28 last night. Well, that went over about as well as a lead balloon. I posted on November 1st, intending to post every day for the month, and then completely forgot about it.
There has, however, been large amounts of progress in other aspects of my life in the past week or so. I’ve gotten a large amount of cleaning and organizing done, lots of leveling in World of Warcraft, and as of today, I’m back on track with the eating healthy thing. I woke up in a mood this morning, is the only explanation I have for things.
Because I’m just that crazy, and I’m really enjoying it… I’m working on levelling up a rather large number of toons at the moment, across multiple servers. Do you play WoW? A couple of weeks ago, I got to spend my evening dogsitting the world’s cutest dog, Farley. He belongs to my landlords (and since I’m in a basement suite, the landlords are right upstairs) and they were off to a hockey game for the evening.
Not only is he the world’s cutest dog, he was also the world’s most easygoing dog. He dealt with my cats like a pro (by ignoring them, basically) and spent the evening lying on the floor by my feet.
He also looks like a giant carbon-copy of the dog I grew up with, Scruffy. While she was small enough to sit on my lap, Farley definitely is not. He’s a “goldendoodle”, which is a cross between a golden retriever and a standard poodle, and is about the size of both of those breeds.
